Tybald Ye is one of the Sphere's top scientists and is responsible for the design of the Brigadiers and Patroller. He was approached personally by Oslo some time shortly after the break up of the Earth to help the Sphere. He is respected for his scientific prowess, but treated with great impatience and little dignity like many of those employed by the Sphere.
He is the grandfather and only living relative of one of children taken in by rebellion, Cheng. His daughter also shared his interests, and was able to contribute to the rebellion before her death in battle. He seems to have had some contact with her up until her death, despite being restricted by Sphere facilities.
His current status is unknown as of the events of episode 12.
